UTAR Sungai Long Campus, May 03, 2024 – Excitement filled the air at UTAR Sungai Long Campus on May 3rd, 2024, for “Beyond Boundaries: Connecting World in Space” Space Symposium organized by OCULLOSPACE, UTAR, AAET, and APhO, in collaboration with Voyager Space, NASA Hunch, and NASA, the event drew in over 300 participants, including UTAR staff, students, and the public.
Distinguished speakers from NASA and industry experts captivated the audience, igniting a passion for space exploration. Ms. Branelle Rodriguez showcased NASA’s LaunchPad & Artemis 2 Overview, while Mr. Scott Rodriguez provided insights into NASA Hunch opportunities. Dr. Franco Gan and Dr. Toh Chia Ming further inspired attendees with discussions on Space Tech Cultivation and Soil Moisture Estimation using Satellite Remote Sensing, respectively.
The symposium featured a live streaming interaction session with Ms. Florence Tan, Chair of the Small Spacecraft Coordination Group (SSCG) at NASA Headquarters and Deputy Chief Technologist (DCT) for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. Additionally, a mini workshop by Voyager Space offered hands-on experience in space exploration technology.
A forum titled “New Rise of ASEAN Space Tech” facilitated discussion and cooperation among participants, with panelists including Dr. Franco Gan, Ms. Branelle Rodriguez, and Mr. Scott Rodriguez. Moderated by Dr. Teoh Hui Chieh, this session aimed to propel ASEAN’s space exploration efforts forward.
